Leadership - Project Scholar class - for NOV 11

In class, we discussed the natural man, what the natural man wants (and doesn't want) and how hard it is to do what we are supposed to because of that natural man!

Part of leadership class will involve health topics so if you are getting your classes accredited, this could count as health. 80% of a typical high school class covers what NOT to do, in this class we will spend much more time covering what TO do.

HOMEWORK:
Finish reading "Achieving Your Life's Mission" if you haven't already. Make sure you have a written mission statement and vision.

Read Ye are the Temple of God by Elder David Bednar. Highlight anything that stands out to you in preparation for discussion.

Writing/Presentation Assignment:

Write an informational, balanced report. It should cover what is good, what is bad, and controversies about the topic. Include what the scriptures and/or prophets/general authorities say about it. Conclusion should include what you believe, based on your research and the gospel.
3/4 to 1 pages typed, single spaced 12 pt font. Don't stress out too much about grammar/editing, etc. Spend the first week reading about the topic, the 2nd week writing the report.

TOPICS TO CHOOSE FROM:
Sleeping
Meat
Healthy foods
Fats to eat
Exercise
Balanced diet
Prescription drugs
Soda Pop
Video games
Sugar
Alternative sweeteners
White Flour vs Whole wheat
Processed Foods (packaged food)
Dairy products
Or any other health topic (just get it pre-approved by me.)
