We did our candidate presentations today, and learned more about Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, and Rick Santorum.
Then we did a ballot in class, which Ron Paul won unanimously.
We also discussed how blogging helps us form our own opinions, via the
writing process, and how it helps the world by keeping ideas in the
public discussion space.
The assignments for next class (Jan 20) are:
1. Read or watch the news as usual.
2. Create a blog post on
something you find interesting. You simply need to write a short
paragraph giving us your opinion on it or why you found it interesting.
3. Read Chapter 1 from Understanding Power, by Noam Chomsky. (You should have finished reading the 1000 Year War by now.)
